Seabiscuit: Will It Win an Oscar, and More Kudos for Laura Hillenbrand, CFS Sufferer? The Seattle Times is wondering if Seabiscuit will win an Oscar next week. The film is based on the book written by Laura Hillenbrand, who has suffered from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome for two decades. If you haven't read Seabiscuit, it's a phenomenal endeavor, one which Laura actually wrote mainly from bed. I started out with no interest in racing or horses when I began, but became entranced with the first word, and remained so through the last. What beautiful writing, AND an incredibly heart-felt story. (The film is excellent, but pssst, the book really is better!) I had the pleasure of interviewing Laura Hillenbrand -- she lives here in the Washington, DC area near me, and was able to feature her, and include a number of quotes from her, in my book Living Well With Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia.
